The Carmel MarThoma Choir Group

Liverpool Marthoma Prayer Fellowship had a choir since it’s been started in 2004. But the Activities were limited to certain extent like Christmas Carol Services and other Worship services. The Prayer fellowship was then transformed to a Parish ‘Carmel MarThoma Church, Liverpool in 2007 and then we have decided to re-structure the choir in a more disciplined and organised way to explore the maximum prospectus, under the leadership of our Choir Master, Mr Abraham Philip (Doye). Then, we have almost succeeded in attracting more members, especially talented young singers to the choir and arranging regular choir practices. From 2008, we decided to start Junior Choir for Carmel MarThoma Church, which has been a great blessing for us. We have a number of young junior singers who perform well with their Talents.

Mainly, Carmel’s Choir Group only targets to sing for Christmas Carol. Our Carol Choir Practices begins at October from every Saturday or Sunday afternoon, 2-4hours a day. For Ordinary Worships and Holy Communion Services, we usually practice for half an hour before the service. For this, our aim is to perform one new Maramon Convention song along with Christian Hymns on every worship service.

We welcome all church members who have got interest and dedication in music and church choir activities to secure a place in Carmel MarThoma Church Choir Group, especially youngsters. A minimum of fifty percentage of attendance in practice session is compulsory for all choir members. We also welcome who is willing to play musical instruments for our choir.
